From the Pastor's Desk

“The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.' Indeed, Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.

Now, Lord, consider their threats (government, Covid-19, the Devil, this world’s system) and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Acts 4:26-31.

In the first century, the gospel message was threatened and so was the instrument of that message, The Church.

We are both the “message” (the Word written in our hearts) and the “messengers” of the Gospel. We are His Body, His voice, His hands, and His feet to bring the Good News to a dark world.  (Heb. 3:6; Eph. 5:30). Satan wants your life and your mouth stopped!  He will use anything to do just that!  Yet God’s people turned to Him. They didn’t make an appeal to anywhere but to Heaven….  They asked that they might, “speak boldly!”

They asked for the kind of vindication that speaks louder than the word of governments and politicians and celebrities—they asked for the miraculous response to all human conditions!  Then they went out and ‘spoke boldly!’  Let us do the same in our day and watch God work with the ‘plan’ that He has designed!
